crimeny
after pouring through harmony-central.com reviews and asking for advice on music forums, i just bought a small pearl drum kit for my room for practice purposes before i start lessons.

i’m optimistic. i can play guitar as a hobbyist sans single-notey lead guitar style but have no desire to perform in front of people in that regard (don’t want to be in the front, too shy/insecure to share/write songs or sing outside of the karaoke room). drums are a different story (queue “session man” by the kinks). i have rhythm and coordination plus people are always looking for a drummer and that’s where i want to be live-wise cause it’s fun, you can completely wile out yet be full of finesse and i’m not going to be in front all eyez on me. no floor tom with this set though. i’ll live for the time being, just wanna set my goal of being an all around badass before i reach 30 which will be 2 years starting tomorrow.
here are a bunch of songs that i think have champion drum sounds:
[audio:quickone.mp3] [audio:levee.mp3]
[audio:lamourstories.mp3] [audio:hardtimes.mp3]
[audio:grand.mp3] [audio:goodmorning,mp3]
[audio:gong.mp3] [audio:dada.mp3]
1. can “vitamin c” 2. ray bryant “up above the rock”
3. the who “a quick one while he’s away” 4. led zeppelin “when the levee breaks”
5. deerhoof “l’amour stories” 6. baby huey “hard times”
7. the mall “grand canyon” 8. slint “good morning, captain”
9. gong “tried so hard” 10. the soft machine “dada was here”
how excited am i? very
